Our vision

Empower homebuilders and industry professionals to create design-led, eco-buildings using sustainably-sourced materials and low-impact methods.

Model SIPs House

Our ethos

We firmly believe that the SIPs build system is a genuine alternative to the traditional bricks and mortar method. By embracing the SIPs approach as we grow as a company, we’re focusing on smarter use of space and dramatically reducing building time whilst using natural resources more responsibly and minimising our impact on the environment. With long-term energy-efficiency always a priority, we actively seek out collaborations with the very best specialist suppliers in this sector to incorporate innovative low-impact technologies such as heat recovery systems, thermally efficient triple glazing and PV renewables.

Through our commitment to this philosophy, we produce attractive, eco-friendly homes and spaces that promote healthier living. We continue to be driven by the desire to take the best possible care of this precious planet. With inspiring design and sustainable building practices, we can play a positive role in tackling the climate crisis whilst addressing the rise in demand for more affordable, low-carbon housing.

First beginnings

Growing up along Dorset’s coast and spending family holidays at the beach huts along Mudeford Spit in Dorset, Pete developed an affinity with nature and a keen interest in how to maximise function with limited space. Twenty years ago, Pete Samson’s dad asked him to rebuild the family beach hut at Mudeford, when he and his wife Kat returned from a round-the-world trip. As a result, he founded Ecologic Developments, crafting beautiful beach huts and environmentally-friendly rebuilds. His company has gone on to build 55 more luxury beach lodges along Mudeford Spit, hundreds of beach huts elsewhere around the country and many resort development projects besides.

Passionate about sustainable building systems, the core team of seven full-time staff manufacture SIPs to create beach huts, modular buildings and luxury accommodation units at the company’s New Forest workshop. Pete and his team enjoy collaborating with environmentally-minded architects, planners and suppliers to create lasting positive change for clients and for the natural environment.

An Ecologic evolution

Initially, we specialised in designing and building beautifully handcrafted beach lodges with ample space to sleep, relax and cook in. Each unit was made off-site within our controlled workshop environment, then delivered as a completed structure to site using specialist transport and mobile crane equipment. Our team have many years of experience designing and detailing space-saving and high-quality products that withstand the toughest coastal environments.

Over the years, we’ve upscaled our facilities in order to deliver larger residential development and commercial construction schemes for councils and private landowners such as The Bournemouth Beach Lodges.

In 2020, Pete launched Ecologic SIPs with a focus on empowering people to build more sustainably using SIPs that provide long-lasting environmental and lifestyle benefits.

Our values: Care | Inspire | Craft

Environmental sustainability is integral to everything we do at Ecologic. With that in mind, we care about our supply chains and keep them as short as possible, work closely with clients to find the most eco-friendly, resourceful and energy-efficient solutions and we always endeavour to minimise our impact on the planet.

With a proven track record in crafting modular, high-end luxury beach lodges, we now specialise in the manufacture and installation of SIPs (structural insulated panels), producing resilient building solutions with long-lasting environmental and lifestyle benefits.

We’ve established a number of new partnerships with leading companies across the construction sector, from structural engineers and project management to M&E (mechanical & electrical) contractors and health and safety consultants to help support our ambitions for growth.

Every SIP that we design is made in-house at our New Forest workshop in Dorset.  We’re experienced problem-solvers, so we relish the challenge of installing SIP structures in unusual, tricky or remote site locations.
