A modern yet timeless beach house
The story of ‘Big Red’ is one that made it into the national press, with the national papers running stories on our innovative delivery method we used to get this beach hut to site.
Late in the summer of 2013, we were approached by Sarah and Mike to take a look at possible designs for their beach hut at Mudeford. We quickly formulated some preliminary design suggestions for the couple, who were looking to achieve a modern yet timeless design that would offer plenty of space and light inside, whilst keeping it practical for their young family. Our advanced 3D modelling system allowed them to get a very accurate picture of the possibilities of their new hut prior to proceeding with the build.
Beach hut delivery
We’d previously built and delivered over 20 huts to Mudeford using this off-site construction technique, however, Big Red was too big to fit through the narrow woodland track that provides access to Mudeford Spit. This forced us to explore alternative routes in order to retain our preferred off-site build method.
“We didn’t need to look far before we found Pete and the Ecologic team and knew straight away we were in safe hands. Innovative ideas and experience were important to us in the design stage brief and Pete did not let us down. Communication throughout the rebuild together with high standards of workmanship from the start through to completion were evident.
We are overwhelmed with the results. Truly stunning and unique! We would not hesitate in recommending Pete and his team but we think the hut speaks for itself. Looking forward to many happy years and memories on the spit. Many thanks.”
